SITA Named Travel Weekly Silver Magellan Award Winner

(Encino, CA, September 13) SITA World Tours has once again been honored for outstanding consumer collateral. The Travel Weekly Magellan Awards have been announced with SITA taking home honors for their 2010/2011 brochures in the Tour Operators Consumer Collateral category.

The Magellan Awards recognize “The best in travel, from design to marketing to services,” according to Arnie Weismann, editor-in-chief of “Travel Weekly.” Entries are judged by a panel of travel experts including Peter Greenberg (Travel Editor, Today Show), Bob Dickinson (former President, CEO, Carnival Cruises), Johnny Jet (Travel Blogger), Ian Schrager (Chairman, CEO, Ian Schrager Company), Rudy Maxa (PBS Host, Rudy Maxa’s World), Tim Zagat (Co-founder, Zagats Surveys), Patricia Shultz (Author, “1000 Places to See Before You Die”) and Lalia Rach (Associate Dean & HVS International Chair, Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Management School of Continuing and Professional Studies, New York University.)

The award marks the second time that SITA has been honored for high achievement in sales collateral. The 2009 SITA brochures were honored with a Silver Magellan Award in the Tour Operators, Trade Collateral category. SITA Vice President, Laudie Hanou noted, “We are thrilled to receive this prestigious award especially in the consumer category. Our brochures are valuable sales tools and the fact that they’ve been recognized as the best of the best is important to us and our travel partners.”
