Summer brings about an almost surreal-feeling, when the Midnight Sun embraces the sky 24 hours a day.The sun never sets between mid-May and early August. This is not to suggest a scorching heat; the weather will be perfect for outdoor activities in the arctic nature which is filled with energy during the summer. Hiking, riding or quad biking in the middle of the night under the Midnight Sun is an experience that will stay with you forever.

The winter is long. There’s snow on the ground from approximately mid-November until end of April. In the heart of winter (approx. December-February), trees sag under the weight of the snow. During that time the amount of light is at its minimum. For six weeks in mid-winter there is the Polar Night – the time when the sun stays below the horizon. However, this doesn’t mean that it would be pitch black, it’s actually magical. The pure snow brings light and sun and the sun colors the sky withpink and purple shades during midday. When the sun sets, everything in the nature turns blue and makes it all seem like a fairy tale.During the spring the days quickly grow longer. In March and April there are long hours of sunshine, and the brightness is intensified by the white snow. The Northern Lights are visible until the end of April.

In the autumn, everything changes when the "ruska", the autumn leaves period sets in. For about three weeks in the beginning of September, nature is ablaze with the most incredible colors, making it an optimal time for hiking. From August to October forests are filled with mushrooms and berries that anyone is free to pick. Due to the high exposure to sunlight in a short period of time, the region's berries and mushrooms are both tasty and packed with vitamins. Travelers are free to help themselves to the natural treats provided by the forest and wetlands. Autumn also is a marvelous time for observing the Northern Lights as the season begins already in late August. .

Midnight Sun season: 1st June - end of July.
Northern Lights season: 22nd August - end of April.
Autumn colors season: end of August - 20th September.
