Day 1 - Arrive Managua
Upon arrival you will be welcomed and
transferred to your hotel. Overnight in
Managua.
Day 2 – Managua / Leon / Managua
After a leisurely morning, travel north to León the colonial capital of Nicaragua. On your way you will have the chance to enjoy the beautiful landscape of Lake Xolotlán, Momotombo volcano and the Maribios volcanic chain. Upon arrival, embark on a full tour of León’s colonial history and culture with visits to some of its 14 colonial period churches, including Central America’s biggest grand cathedral, the Art Centre of Ortiz- Gurdián Foundation and the Ruben Dario
Museum. Later, witness the amazing volcanic activity in the small rural village of San Jacinto where the micro-craters of the Telica volcano can be observed. Overnight in Managua. (B)
Day 3 – Managua / Masaya / Granada / Managua
You will be transported south to the Masaya Volcano National Park where you will be driven right to the summit of an active smoking crater for a look inside. Continue to the country’s most famous outdoor artisan’s market in Masaya city before visiting the little village of Catarina in the hills behind Masaya. On the return to Granada, you will have the opportunity to stop at the tropical island archipelago paradise of Las Isletas in Lake Nicaragua. In Granada, tour the city, observe the beautiful architecture and learn more about the history and culture of the region at the San Francisco Convent Museum, La Merced Church and “Casa de los Tres Mundos”. Overnight in Managua. (B)
Day 4 – Depart Managua
You will be transferred to the airport for your departing flight. (B)
