DAY
1 - ARRIVE AUCKLAND
On arrival in Auckland, 'The City of Sails', you
will be met by our local representative and
privately transferred to your hotel.
DAY 2 - AUCKLAND - BAY OF ISLANDS
Travel north over Auckland's Harbour Bridge and
along the Hibiscus Coast. There is the opportunity
to view mighty Kauri Trees enroute. The journey
continues, travelling through Whangarei, Northland's
only major city and port, before arriving in the
beautiful Bay of Islands. This afternoon enjoy a
'Hole in the Rock and Cape Brett' cruise. Finish
your cruise in historic Russell and return by local
ferry to Paihia at your leisure. (B)
DAY 3 - BAY OF ISLANDS
Today is at your leisure to enjoy the Bay of
Islands and Northland. You might like to book an
optional Cape Reinga & 90 Mile Beach day tour, visit
the Waitangi Treaty Grounds or take time to explore
Kerikeri. Optional activities not included in the
tour price. (B)
DAY 4 - BAY OF ISLANDS - AUCKLAND
Depart Paihia and return to Auckland 'the City
of Sails'. (B)
DAY 5 - AUCKLAND - COROMANDEL
Depart Auckland nd travel the scenic route south
to the Coromandel Peninsula. Visit the historic
township of Thames, famous for its goldmining in the
1900's, then continue over the spectacular,
semi-tropical bush clad mountains to Pauanui. (B)
DAY 6 - COROMANDEL
Visit the world famous Hot Water Beach where the
hot water bubbles out of the sand so hot it can burn
your feet! Take a gentle farmland walk to visit the
beautiful Cathedral Cove for a walk or swim
(optional boat transfer into Cathedral Cove can be
arranged). After lunch (own expense), you will have
a free afternoon. You might like to take a tour of
the Whitianga Harbour by glass-bottomed boat if time
permits. Optional activities not included in the
tour price. (B)
DAY 7 - COROMANDEL - TAURANGA
Depart at your leisure this morning for the
short coastal drive to Tauranga. Highly recommended
is an optional flight to White Island this
afternoon, an active volcano situated off the coast
of Tauranga (optional activities not included).
Included is a nighttime kayaking tour to view
glowworms - no experience is required for this
wonderful and unique activity! (B)
DAY 8 - TAURANGA - NAPIER
Today travel south through Rotorua and Taupo
before heading east to the coast again and on to the
'Art Deco City' of Napier. (B)
DAY 9 - NAPIER
Today discover four boutique wineries, with fine
handcrafted Red & White Premium and Reserve medal
winning wines. (B)
DAY 10 - NAPIER - WELLINGTON
Travel through the Manawatu Gorge to Palmerston
North, before arriving in the 'Capital City' of
Wellington. (B)
DAY 11 - WELLINGTON
Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Wellington
and a short guided tour of Te Papa (the 'Museum of
New Zealand') before having a free afternoon to
explore New Zealand's capital city. (B)
DAY 12 - WELLINGTON - NATIONAL PARK
Travel north from Wellington up the Kapiti
Coast, through Palmerston North and into Tongariro
National Park. This park is dominated by the 3
mountains - Mt Ruapehu, Mt Tongariro and Mt
Ngaruahoe. (B)
DAY 13 - NATIONAL PARK
Today is a free day to enjoy Tongariro National
Park. You might like to book the optional Tongariro
Crossing guided tour - please ask your consultant
for information. (B)
DAY 14 - NATIONAL PARK - HAMILTON
Depart National Park and continue north around
Lake Taupo, through lush Waikato farmland to arrive
in Hamilton. (B)
DAY 15 - HAMILTON - AUCKLAND
Travel north through the fertile Waikato region
before returning to Auckland. (B)
DAY 16 - DEPARTURE AUCKLAND
Your arrangements conclude today with a
departure transfer to the airport. We trust you
