This morning travel north of Amman to the Roman city of Jerash. You are greeted by the imposing triple-arched gateway built to honor the Emperor Hadrian's arrival at Jerash in A.D. 129. Visit the Temples of Zeus, the mile-long Street of Columns, Cardo Maximus, the colonnaded streets, theaters, baths and over 17 churches that were found in Jerash. Afternoon travel further north to the village of Ajlun to visit the ancient Saracen Castle named Qalat Al-Rabad, one of the best-preserved examples of the Medieval/ Islamic military architecture in the entire Middle East. Afternoon return to Amman and enjoy a city tour including a visit to the old and new parts of the city as well as the Citadel and the Roman Amphitheater. (BLD)

Day 3 - Amman / Madaba / Mt. Nebo / Kerak / Petra
Travel to Petra via Madaba, Mt. Nebo and Kerak. Some of the world's finest Byzantine mosaics are found in Madaba, as is the oldest known map of the Holy Land. Mt. Nebo, thought to be the burial site of Moses, boasts a splendid view of the Dead Sea. Visit Kerak's massive Crusader Castle, built on a plateau 3,400 feet above sea level. This famous castle lies in the biblical land of Moab and was a Moa' bite stronghold long before the Crusaders built the castle for which it is famous today. (BLD)

Day 4 - Petra
Full day to explore the legendary rosered city of Petra. Petra is the legacy of the Nabataeans, an industrious Arab people who settled in southern Jordan more than 2,000 years ago. Most of the 800 monuments in Petra are carved out of solid rock. See the spectacular Treasury, the 8,000-seat amphitheater, the Temple of the Winged Lions and other monuments. (BLD)
