Arrive tonight in India’s bustling capital city of Delhi, where you are greeted with a traditional Indian welcome and escorted to your hotel. THE LALIT.
Nov 14 - Delhi Sightseeing
Embark on your tour of Old and New Delhi. Visit Old Delhi covering the Red Fort, Raj Ghat, Ashoka Pillar and the mile-long Chandni Chowk bazaar. In the afternoon tour New Delhi as you drive along Rajpath to view the Parliament House, the President’s House and India Gate. Visit the Humayun’s Tomb, Qutab Minar and Birla Temple. (B)
Nov 15 - Delhi / Agra
Drive to Agra, en route visiting Sikandra. In Agra, visit the Agra Fort followed by a visit to the Taj Mahal for a sunset view. MUGHAL SHERATON (B).
Nov 16 - Agra / Fatehpur Sikri / Jaipur
Drive to Jaipur, en route stopping at the abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri, a masterpiece of Muslim and Hindu architecture. Continue overland to Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan. Check in at your hotel. RAJPUTANA SHERATON. (B)
Nov 17 - Amber Fort Excursion & Jaipur Sightseeing
In the morning, visit the mountain fortress of Amber, riding atop daintily painted and decorated elephants. Later, enjoy a tour of Jaipur City, and visit Hawa Mahal, City Palace and the ancient observatory. (B)
Nov 18 - Jaipur-Pushkar
Drive to Pushkar, and partake in the Pushkar Fair. Held annually in November, this five-day event is one of the worlds largest Camel fairs, with over 200,000 attendees. Traders and farmers gather from all over Rajasthan and partake in this amazing festival which includes the buying and selling of livestock and goods, celebrations, carnivals, music and much more. Nov 19 - Pushkar
Full day at the pushkar fair grounds. Pushkar Fair brings alive bedecked Camels, decorated cattles, adventures competitions, breathtaking events, jostling rustic crowd, meditating sadhus, holy dip, vivid stalls, exotic fair, colorful desert and more. (BLD)
Nov 20 – Pushkar / Jodhpur
This morning drive to Jodhpur, upon arrival check-in at your hotel. Afternoon visit the invincible Mehrangarh Fort and the Jaswant Thada, a graceful marble cenotaph built in 1899. AJIT BHAWAN PALACE. (B)
Nov 21 - Jodhpur / Ranakpur / Udaipur
Depart for Udaipur, stopping en route to tour the beautifully sculpted 15th century Jain temples of Ranakpur. Continue your journey, stopping for lunch at Maharani Bagh—a mango grove and private gardens of the Maharajah of Jodhpur. Arrive in Udaipur and check into your hotel. Nov 22 - Udaipur Sightseeing
Tour this famous “City of Lakes.” Visit City Palace with its scalloped arches, fretted balconies and cupo-las, Saheliyon ki Bari Garden and the folklore museum where you can see a presentation of the string puppets typical to this area. (B)
Nov 23 - Udaipur / Mumbai (Bombay)
This morning fly to Mumbai (formerly Bombay), India’s most cosmopolitan city. Upon arrival in Mumbai proceed for a tour of Mumbai, which includes the British built arch “Gateway of India,” the Hanging Gardens and Malabar Hills where Mumbai’s rich and famous live, the Prince of Wales Museum, Dhobi Ghat, Marine Drive, the Gandhi Memorial Museum and Jain Temple. Check in at the hotel where you have a day room for wash and change at LEELA KEMPINSKI. Later in the evening bid farewell to India, and depart on your onward flight home. (B)
