Day 1 - Arrive Beijing
Arrive in Beijing the capital of the Peoples Republic of China. You are welcomed at the airport and escorted to the hotel.
Day 2 - Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven & Summer Palace
Start your tour this morning with visit to the Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world and the Forbidden City, the 250-acre palace containing more than 9,000 rooms. Closed to the common people for centuries, it was only opened to the public in 1949. Later, explore the Summer Palace, the retreat of Chinas royal families for over 2,000 years and the Temple of Heaven, possibly the countrys most popular symbol. (BL)
Day 3 - Great Wall Excursion
Visit the Great wall, stopping en route at the Birds Nest & Water Cube for a picture. The Great Wall, built 2,300 years ago and extending 3,750 miles, can be seen from space! Later, visit the Shaolin Kungfu Training School or walk along Sacred Way. (BL)
Day 4 - Beijing Zoo & Hutong Tour
Morning visit the Beijing Zoo to se the Giant Panda. Later visit Beijings hutongs, or ancient city alleys. The hutongs were built as part of a city building plan that followed the etiquette systems of the Zhou dynasty, which had specific protocols regarding how residential areas should be set up. Afternoon at leisure. (BL)
Day 5 - Beijing / Xian - City Tour
This morning fly to Xian, once the largest city in the world. Xian was the national capital for eleven Chinese dynasties and a major link between Asia and Europe. You will be met and transferred to the hotel. Afternoon visit the Grand Mosque & Muslim Street and the Bell Tower. (BL)
Day 6 - Terra Cotta Warriors
Xian captured the interest of the world in 1974 with the discovery of the astonishing third-century BC burial sites of the first emperor to unite China, Qin Shi Huangdi. Visit the archaeological site to see thousands of Terra Cotta Warriors, which have been standing guard over the Imperial Tomb for 2,000 years. Also visit the Ancient City Wall, ceramics & pottery workshop. In the evening, enjoy a Tang dynasty dinner & show. (BLD)
Day 7 - Xian / Guilin
Fly to Guilin, one of the most scenic areas in China. Transfer to the hotel. Visit the Reed Flute Cave, the underground crystal palace. (BL)
Day 8 - Li River Excursion / Yangshuo
Relax and enjoy the natural beauty of this region from the decks of a slow-moving boat on the Li River. Check into your hotel in Yangshuo, a quiet and picturesque town, home to one of the best antique and craft markets in China. (BL)
Day 9 - Yangshuo / Shanghai
Morning at leisure. Afternoon fly to Shanghai. Upon arrival, met and transferred to your hotel. (B)
Day 10 - Shanghai Sightseeing
Your morning tour of Shanghai includes a visit to Yuyuan Garden and the Shanghai Museum. Afternoon visit the Bund, a wide, tree-lined avenue along the Huangpu River. Later visit Xintiandi, the famous shopping, eating and entertainment district of Shanghai. (BL)
Day 11 - Suzhou Sightseeing
Drive this morning to Suzhou, often called the 'Venice of the East' for its network of waterways and canals crossed by 300 graceful bridges dating back to the Ming Dynasty. Visit the Garden of Master of Nets and Lingering Garden and Ride on the Grand Canal, Chinas ancient commercial waterway. Later return to Shanghai. (BL)
Day 12 - Shanghai / Home
Morning transfer to the airport for your flight for back home. (B)
