Day 1 Arrive Kigali – Volcanoes National Park
Arrive Kigali, and time permitting visit the town and the Genocide Memorial. After lunch, enjoy the spectacular views of the majestic volcanoes en route to Ruhengeri. (LD)
Day 2 Gorilla trekking - Kigali
As the first light of dawn breaks through the curtain of mist, enter the Volcanoes National Park to track the gorillas. After lunch at your lodge, drive back to Kigali. (BLD)
Day 3 Kigali – Kabale – Fort Portal
Depart early and enter Uganda passing through the land of 1000 Hills en route. Travel through the grass covered hills and valleys filled with banana, tofu and coffee plantations. Arrive in Kibale National Park. (BLD)
Day 4 Fort Portal – Semliki
Continue through fascinating landscapes to see the Bamba and Bakonjo people, referred to as Pygmies, who are traditionally forest dwellers, but today grow coffee and cocoa. Interact with them at the local markets where they will show how they use forest plants for medicinal purposes. Proceed to the Semliki Reserve. Enjoy a night game drive in an open Land Rover to see nocturnal species such as leopard, lion, spotted genets, white-tailed mongoose, eagle owls and spectacular nightjars. (BLD)
Day 5 Semliki – Fort Portal – Queen Elizabeth NP
Head out on a guided nature walk in the forest in search of primates, such as chimpanzees, and birds, butterflies and different species of plants. Continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park. (BLD)
Day 6 Queens Elizabeth National Park
Early morning game drive in the park. Afternoon boat ride on the Kazinga Channel to witness the hundreds of types of birds, followed by a late game drive in search of elephant herds. (BLD)
Day 7 Queen Elisabeth NP – Lake Mburo
After an early breakfast exit the park and proceed to the escarpment overlooking the Great Rift Valley for an unforgettable sight. Arrive for lunch at Lake Mburo, keeping an eye out for game en route to your lodge. (BLD)
Day 8 Lake Mburo – Entebbe – Depart
After an early morning game drive, depart for Entebbe for a late afternoon or evening departure. (B)
