8 Days Nairobi, Samburu, Mt Kenya, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara
Day 1 - Arrive Nairobi
Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to
your hotel. Time permitting, enjoy an optional
visit to the Karen Blixen Museum and Giraffe
Manor for a view of the rare Rothschild
giraffe.
Day 2 - Nairobi / Samburu
Depart Nairobi for Samburu. Heading north,
you’ll pass through some breathtaking scenery
dotted with rushing mountain streams
and tea and coffee plantations. Arrive at your
lodge in time for lunch and an afternoon
game drive. (BLD)
Day 3 - Samburu Game Reserve
Today’s early morning game drive is followed
by breakfast and time to relax at the lodge.
After lunch there will be another game drive,
returning to the lodge as the sun sets. (BLD)
Day 4 - Samburu Game Reserve /Mount Kenya
Travel to our lodge on the flanks of Kenya’s
highest mountain and secreted deep within
her largest forest reserve. Fall asleep to the
symphony of the African night or sit in stillness
and observe the fascinating interplay of
the animals as they arrive to drink, bathe, spar
and forage around the water hole. (BLD)
Day 5 - Mount Kenya / Lake Nakuru
Awake to the trumpeting of elephant before
we head across the Great Rift Valley to Lake
Nakuru, with a stop at Thompson’s Falls en
route. Reach Lake Nakuru, often colored a
shimmering flamingo pink from thousands
of the beautiful birds lining its shores. Enjoy
an afternoon game drive before returning to
your lodge. (BLD)
Day 6 - Lake Nakuru / Masai Mara
Drive to Masai Mara arriving in time for
lunch at a lodge and an afternoon game
drive. (BLD)
Day 7 - Masai Mara Game Reserve
Encounter prides of lions, gatherings of
hippo, and vast herds of wildebeest, zebra
and antelope on morning and afternoon
game drives. A fabulous balloon safari over
the Masai Mara is also available (additional cost). (BLD)
Day 8 - Masai Mara Game Reserve /
Depart Nairobi
Return to Nairobi by road, where a day
room is provided before you transfer to the
airport for your departure flight. (B)
