Day 7 Fly to Nairobi, day room and transfer to JKIA

Day 1 Arrive Nairobi
Upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta Int’l Airport you will be met by as SITA representative just outside the baggage area and transferred to the Fairmont Norfolk Hotel.

Older than the London Ritz, younger than The Savoy, no other hotel in Kenya has as rich a history as the Norfolk, one of the world's most romantic hotels. When it was first opened on Christmas Day, 1904, it was to spearhead traditions of hospitality in East Africa which are still unmatched today. It is said that Nairobi as a capital city grew up around the Norfolk. From the new and old worlds the first guests came, many of noble birth. The guest list made its name as a legend then and still does so today.

Day 2 Nairobi / Samburu
After an early breakfast you will be transferred to the Nairobi’s Wilson Airport at, for your scheduled flight to the North. Touch down at Sasaab where you are met by Sasaab representative and transferred to your luxury tented camp, your home for 2 nights!

Sasaab Lodge is one of the most stylish and luxurious game lodges in Northern Kenya. Overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro river in the heart of Samburu land, the lodge is comprised of nine individually detached rooms with huge thatched roofs and canvas sides with sensational views down the river and over the bush and beyond. Each room is uniquely styled with its own private pool and open veranda. Attention to detail is evident throughout the lodge, from the personal service and the food through to the elegant interiors and design - which is contemporary North African in style. The lodge is in the midst of a community conservancy, rich in raw Samburu culture and traditions and has been built with wildlife conservation and preservation of the environment foremost in mind. The lodge has been established in association with the local community who benefit directly and indirectly from your stay at Sasaab. Sasaab Lodge offers invigorating walks through the wilderness, game watching, alfresco dining, a unique cultural experience and opportunities to become involved with the local community and is the ultimate place to relax and unwind.

Day 4 Samburu / Masai Mara
You will be transferred to the Samburu South airstrip for your scheduled flight to Masai Mara. Upon arrival at Musiara airstrip you will be met by your guide and transferred to your Camp, (meaning “peaceful, calm or serene” in the Maa language of the Maasai people) which is the charismatic bush home of Alex Walker, filmmaker and guide in the Masai Mara. An exclusive bush camp that flanks a secluded valley located alongside the Mara River. The private marquee tents overlook the river and are set in the shade of large Warburgia trees that cover the site, a tranquil setting that borders one of the finest Game Reserves in the world. Each tent is furnished with period style furniture and has private en-suite bathrooms (with hot and cold water safari showers and pit latrine toilets). We will site the camp according to the most recent position of wildlife concentrations in the Mara to ensure that you are as close as possible to your prey at all times.

During your stay, there is also the option to ‘fly camp’. Here we aim to put some adventure into your safari, walking with experienced armed guides we will take you into the heart of the Mara. You will immediately notice the difference between a vehicle tour and one conducted on foot. Senses that may have been a little dulled in a car will strain to perceive indications of the wild game that surrounds you. Your perception of the bush will change until you feel an intimate relationship with the environment through which you trek. You will be experiencing the bush in much the same way that our pre-historic ancestors did. At night we will camp under the stars enjoying a wholesome meal in the company of roaring lions.

Day 7 Mara / Nairobi / Depart
Transfer to the Musiara airstrip for your morning scheduled flight back to Nairobi. On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Fairmont Norfolk Hotel where a room is reserved for day use, until you transfer to JKIA for your departure flight.
